Kesshin Kai (KK) does not inform each student/parent individually of updates to these Terms & Conditions. It is the responsibility of each student/parent to review this document regularly.
Liability
Kesshin Kai (KK), and any instructor associated with KK, will not accept liability for any personal injuries or accidents resulting from the improper practice or use of any techniques taught, whether during classes, courses, workshops, or whilst attending any Kesshin Kai dojo, including the National Windermere Headquarters.
All martial arts techniques can cause injury if performed incorrectly and should only be practised under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
Licence & Insurance
All students must hold a valid licence which includes appropriate martial arts insurance prior to commencing training.
This is in accordance with the rules set out by Kesshin Kai UK.
Insurance is renewed every 12 months. Students without valid insurance are not permitted to train.
Dojo Etiquette
All students must follow dojo etiquette at all times.
Students are expected to respect the Sensei, fellow students, and the dojo both on and off the mat.
Attire
Only the official Gi (uniform) should be worn.
All required badges must be correctly sewn on prior to grading (e.g. Yellow belt – 1 badge, Orange – 2 badges, etc.).
No jewellery, watches, wristbands, or visible accessories are permitted during training.
Piercings that cannot be removed must be safely covered.
Payments & Direct Debit
All payments are taken via Direct Debit.
If training fees increase, Kesshin Kai will provide a minimum of 10 days notice.
Should a student wish to leave the club, a minimum of 14 days notice must be given prior to the next scheduled payment date.
It is the responsibility of the student/parent to cancel the Direct Debit. Kesshin Kai does not cancel Direct Debits on behalf of members.
No refunds or reimbursements will be made.
Holiday Periods
Kesshin Kai operates a total of 6 weeks holiday per year:
2 weeks at Christmas
2 weeks at Easter
2 weeks during Summer
These are already factored into the monthly fee.
Class Cancellations
Kesshin Kai cannot accept responsibility for any lessons cancelled due to circumstances beyond control, including but not limited to:
Severe weather (snow, floods) Fire
Illness outbreaks / epidemics
Competitions, Workshops & Courses
All deposits and payments are non-refundable.
In the event of injury preventing attendance (with valid medical evidence), a credit note or voucher may be offered at the discretion of Kesshin Kai.
Social Media & Media Consent
Kesshin Kai may take photos and videos during classes, events, and competitions.
All media remains the property of Kesshin Kai and may be used for promotional and educational purposes.
If a student/parent does not wish to be included, written notice must be provided via email.
Media will not be shared with third parties.
Social Media Conduct
All comments relating to Kesshin Kai, its instructors, and students must remain respectful.
Inappropriate or negative comments may result in removal or blocking from all Kesshin Kai platforms.
